I really enjoyed the pizza here. Crust was great! They played pretty good music and were showing the Dodger's game on the big screen. The staff was really nice but we did feel a little rushed to leave.
What a gem in South El Monte. Walked in to a surprising venue. Rio's pizza has something for everyone. Family style bench seating. High top tables for 2, and even bar seating. They are playing sports on their 2 large screen tvs, and have games for everyone. This was not just pizza, it's a meal! We ordered a pepperoni and a Hawaiian. The crust was like biting into a loaf of french bread. The sauce was perfectly balanced, not bitter, not sour, not sweet, just super flavorful, and just the right amount. The cheese blend is ooey gooey and chewy. Delicious. They only use the highest quality toppings for a perfect balance. You don't miss anything with this good combination. They also have can sodas, draft beers and great staff that make you feel welcome. If you are doing a take out, coming from a kids game or dance class, or a night out you feel welcomed. They do catering and host events for sports and group meetings. Ask for Sam the manager or Pam the owner. They go out of their way to make you part of their family. Wow. Hidden gem in South El Monte. Please do not buy costco pizza. Just try this one and you will never go back. Crust edge is crispy and inside of it is juicy. Made it just perfect. Well, I am sold and I am a foodie. Service was great as they even apologized for food coming out late (but it wasnt). Clean and big place. I would come back here to watch a game or two with beer. Highly recommended. Please don't miss out.
The food is absolutely the best here, pizza and the lemon pepper wing are amazing, also must try is the potato wedges. The atmosphere is relaxed and people and service are great. They have most sports games during the seasons.
We love Rios Pizza! We actually live closer to a certain Pizza Company in Hacienda Heights but would rather order pick up at Rio's in El Monte. The pizza crust is thick (not too thick) and crispy and soft. The cheese and sauce ratio is perfect. My husband really likes the toppings, he says they're really hearty. We love the wings too! They also have "happy hour" weekday specials from 4-7. We always order take-out and haven't had a chance to try it, but hopefully soon. Shout out to Sam, who is super friendly. You guys are doing a great job. We highly recommend Rio's!
My second time ordering Rio's Pizza for take out. The restaurant itself looks clean and spacious. The online ordering is super simple and the pizza is always hot and ready and on time. You can tell quality ingredients have been used. The crust is chewy with a good crisp. I usually skip the crust but I find myself eating Rio's Pizza crust ....so good! The cheese is super cheesy and tasty and the toppings are very generous! Honestly what made me want to write this review is how delicious the wings were! Cooked perfectly, meaty witha bit crisp. Today we got the BBQ and mango habanero. So GOOD! Can't wait to try the other flavors of wings,also want to try one of their specialty pizza next time. I do not live in the area, but when I find myself in S. El Monte I am sure to pick up Rio's!
We were meeting with friends and decided about having pizza and ended up back at the best pizza place around. We came in Saturday 2-22-25 around 2pm and it was awesome as always. We beat the crowd because we were the only ones there so it was great to talk, watch tv and enjoy our pizza. It is amazing as always and just awesome. Cannot wait to return and thank you Rio's for just being consistently good!

One of the best pizzas I've had in a long time! This says a lot, I work for a pizza wholesale; we get free pizza from our customers all the time so I am a pizza connoisseur. The crust was thick but crunchy the sauce had a good taste and the cheese pulled nicely! This is by far better than the other Rio locations! Very nice staff, clean restrooms, plenty of parking. Will definitely be back again since we are just down the street off Rush.
